Irati Energy is an oil shale deposit in Southern Brazil, with over 600 sq Km of land position, in a basin that has been consistently producing oil from shale rock since the 1980s. With existing total drilling of 86,000m over 2,380 holes, the Irati Energy acreage may indicate oil in place exceeding 2bln barrels of oil shale. The company expects to initially produce 15k bbl/d scaling to 30-40k bbl/d over time, and will produce for more than 50 years from the existing land position.
